Remembering a very special lady

Lulu meant so much to so many, a beautiful person inside and out, Lulurocks started in 2016

It’s an annual event to celebrate the life of Lulu, and to give back to charities that were dear to her heart

Lulu Rocks, remembers the life of Lulu Covey, who died in a car crash between Yeovil and Dorchester on May 8th 2015.

This years event will begin from 4pm on Saturday 16th June at Bridport’s Salwayash Village Hall.

Lulu Rocks was created by Lulu’s mother, Glenys Marsh, and this is why she started it up.

“When we lost Lulu I couldn’t bear the thought of people forgetting her. She was just amazing, she was a lovely girl, she had an amazing life, lots and lots of friends. I just couldn’t bear the thought of losing that”

There will be a variety of things to do at this years Lulu Rocks which is the third since its inception back in 2016.

Live music will be provided for free by musicians such as Jack Humphries, Zoe Baker and Stevie and The Masquerades, whilst The Falafel Den will be providing some of the food on offer.

A silent auction will also take place with two walk on parts on ITV’s Doc Martin and a signed and framed Exeter Chief’s shirt making up just two of the prizes up for grabs, with 50 more being supplied by local businesses.

Glenys has ambitions to raise more than the combined £18,700 over the last two years for a special reason.

“The first year we raised £7000, last year we raised nearly £12,000. The ultimate goal for next year is to raise £30,000 when Lulu would have been 30, so we’re going to have a sort of 30th birthday bash and hopefully get the £30,000 then.”

Tickets for the event are priced at just £10 with all of the proceeds going to charity, including both the Mountjoy School and The Racehorse Sanctuary which have been included this year in the list of charities that Lulu Rocks donates to.
